It comes with an extension and you mount the standard cover to the extension. On the 1000 I had to trim the fairing a little to get it to fit.

Tuning is a bit of an art. Pay attention to clutch stack height. I use a half half mixture of worn and new plates. So I don't need brand new plates everytime I check the clutch. Stick to the same clutch pack height everytime, Then sort out the springs, shims and weights. Basically from memory the Weights affect how hard the clutch locks up, the springs affects the rpm that the clutch locks up and shims effect the initial static clutch pressure. Changing the springs also affect the weights a little and visa versa. If you set it up as the instructions say then adjust one thing at a time. Should be no drama.

Can't pull the clutch lever at high rpms with weights on the arms, you are correct. But the rivets are far stronger than the clutch cable or lever. Cable would snap first then lever would be my guess. My hand isn't strong enough to do either. Maybe with multigrips or vice grips you could apply that much force but down the quarter with only one hand no chance of applying that much pressure. Mtc sell alot of clutches have you heard of this happening often. We have done about 25 passes on it now.

@@BrothersOnABudget not often but have repaired oil cooled gxr one.that got off .. some models assembly, the curved washer is behind under spring plate .. gsx1400 and gsx1100 1150 etc ..so when you pull clutch lever the basket moves away more than 1mm so the clutch air gap isnt there for dissengagement . and i had a clear cover and the weight arms nearly hit the cover ... the oil cooled gxr .. had the curve washer between gear and basket so .. ..air gap didnt get effected ,, mtc did tell me not to pull clutch after 7k rpm but even at 4k .. you can see/feel the prob ... i have early mtc slider converted to hand slider on gs1100 .. on the street with turbo .. and had to have lots of weights and lots of static .. as it boosted at 3500 rpm in top gear .. and slipped .. . so i have a bearing between clutch and the cover to stop basket getting off and effecting dissengagement .. and an electric cable assist friction unit from the remake of 81 katana to help pull lever in

@@ivangeorgiev8694 with such a small engine it is. E9x is an old platform and also not that expensive to work on yourself. Lot’s of online forums/video’s about this car for free. I mean is it reliable? I guess that depends on what model you find lots of mileage is a bad idea. Ofcourse any bmw is not for everyone their first car because of money but if you look at it as an car enthausiast perspective I think it’s a good beginner car. Good handling, not to much power, you can really learn how to drive on these things. Ofcourse you have better options if you want more fun for the buck.
